Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of hospital departments ensuring compliance with federal healthcare regulations (VA, HIPAA, JCAHO)
- Develop and implement strategic improvement plans for veteran care delivery systems
- Manage departmental budgets exceeding $5M with rigorous financial oversight
- Lead cross-functional teams in process optimization and quality initiatives
- Serve as primary liaison between clinical staff and federal regulatory bodies
- Analyze performance metrics to drive continuous quality improvement
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and disaster response protocols
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field
- 5+ years progressive leadership experience in federal healthcare systems
- Active VA Certification or equivalent federal healthcare credentialing
- Expertise in VA-specific regulations (VHA Handbook 1004.01) and compliance frameworks
- Proven track record in managing complex healthcare operations and budgets
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making capabilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
- Experience with EHR systems (Cerner/Epic) preferred
