Responsibilities
- Assist veterans and their families with navigating VA benefits, healthcare systems, and support programs
- Process and manage claims for disability compensation, pension, and education benefits
- Conduct eligibility assessments and provide personalized benefit counseling
- Collaborate with medical facilities and community partners to coordinate veteran care
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation in VA systems
- Respond to inquiries from veterans, families, and stakeholders regarding VA services
- Participate in outreach programs to increase veteran awareness of available benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in benefits administration or veteran services
- Proficiency with VA systems (VBMS, VBA) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex benefits information
- Knowledge of federal regulations governing veteran benefits programs
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel
