Responsibilities
- Manage veteran benefit claims and appeals with 95% accuracy per federal guidelines
- Coordinate healthcare access and referrals across VA medical facilities in New York
- Develop and implement outreach programs to connect veterans with available services
- Analyze veteran data to identify service gaps and recommend policy improvements
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies on veteran support initiatives
- Maintain confidential records in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Provide expert guidance to veterans and their families on benefits eligibility
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in veteran services or federal benefits administration
- Proficiency with VA claims processing systems (VBMS, VBA-Net)
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel to VA facilities
- Strong knowledge of federal veterans' benefits (38 CFR)
- Exceptional communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools (Tableau/Power BI)
