Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veteran benefit claims with 95% accuracy
- Provide direct case management for 100+ veteran clients monthly
- Coordinate with medical facilities and legal teams for complex cases
- Maintain strict compliance with federal regulations (VA Handbook 5007)
- Utilize Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA)
- Conduct outreach programs to increase veteran enrollment in benefits
- Prepare detailed reports for congressional inquiries and audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in federal benefits administration
- Active VA Form 10-2850a application submitted within 30 days
- Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and VistA systems
- Knowledge of 38 CFR Part 3 (Veterans Benefits)
- Certification in Veterans Service Officer (VSO) preferred
