Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' disability compensation claims with 95% accuracy
- Conduct comprehensive benefits interviews and eligibility assessments
- Develop personalized benefits plans for veterans and their families
- Collaborate with medical professionals to gather supporting evidence
- Maintain confidential case files while adhering to HIPAA and VA regulations
- Provide expert guidance on complex benefit programs (e.g., VR&E, Education)
- Train veterans and families on benefit entitlements through workshops
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of benefits administration experience
- VA Form 10-2850c application submitted through USAJobs
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency in VA's Benefits Delivery at Discharge (BDD) system
- Knowledge of 38 CFR Chapter 3 regulations
- Experience working with diverse veteran populations
- Valid Oregon driver's license
