Responsibilities
- Manage electronic health record systems (VistA) and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Oversee network infrastructure security and implement zero-trust architecture
- Coordinate system upgrades and disaster recovery planning for 24/7 critical services
- Train clinical staff on new technology adoption and system optimization
- Collaborate with VA cybersecurity team on threat mitigation protocols
- Document technical processes and maintain system documentation
- Support telehealth platform integrations for veteran access
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of healthcare IT experience with EHR systems
- Active Security+ CE certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration and SQL databases
- Experience with federal IT security frameworks (NIST, FISMA)
- Strong project management skills with PMP preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
