Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with VA regulations
- Process and code medical diagnoses/procedures using ICD-10 and CPT systems
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and data security protocols
- Coordinate health information exchange with external providers
- Support quality improvement initiatives through data analysis
- Train staff on medical records procedures and updates
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or related field
- 3+ years medical records management experience
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or RHIA preferred
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Knowledge of HIPAA and VA recordkeeping standards
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
