Responsibilities
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) in VistE system with 100% accuracy
- Verify patient demographic information and insurance documentation
- Coordinate release of medical records according to HIPAA and VA guidelines
- Train staff on EHR protocols and documentation standards
- Conduct quality audits to ensure regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve documentation discrepancies
- Generate reports for healthcare analytics and patient care coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- 2+ years experience with EHR systems (VistE/Epic preferred)
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or RHIT credentials
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA and medical record regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
