Responsibilities
- Manage electronic health records systems (VA VistA) with strict HIPAA compliance
- Develop and implement health information policies for 50+ clinical departments
- Conduct data audits and quality assurance reviews for 10,000+ patient records
- Coordinate with IT security teams on cybersecurity initiatives for health data
- Train staff on new information management protocols and systems
- Analyze data trends to support veteran care improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal healthcare regulations (21 CFR Part 11)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- 3+ years experience in healthcare data management
- Expertise in VA VistA EHR system
- Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and federal healthcare regulations
- Strong analytical skills with data visualization experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA security clearance
- Experience training diverse healthcare staff on information systems
