Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize electronic health record systems for 50+ daily patient encounters
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and data integrity in VA's VistEHR system
- Coordinate with clinical teams to resolve health information discrepancies
- Train staff on VA health information management protocols
- Conduct audits and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Serve as primary liaison between medical staff and IT department
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years health information systems experience
- Expertise in VA VistEHR or similar EHR platforms
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA and federal healthcare regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
