Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with VA regulations
- Implement data governance frameworks to ensure HIPAA compliance and data integrity
- Collaborate with clinical teams to develop health information workflows
- Lead system upgrades and process improvements for health information technology
- Conduct audits and quality assurance reviews for health information systems
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Analyze healthcare data to support operational decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, IT, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with EHR systems (Epic Cerner preferred)
- Certified Health Information Administrator (CHIA) or RHIA required
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and federal healthcare regulations
- Experience with data analytics and healthcare reporting tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
- Proficiency in SQL and healthcare data modeling
