Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain comprehensive electronic health record systems (VistA) ensuring data accuracy and accessibility
- Implement HIPAA compliance protocols and information security standards across all health information processes
- Coordinate with clinical departments to streamline health information workflows and optimize EHR functionality
- Conduct audits and quality assurance reviews to validate data integrity and regulatory adherence
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff on health information management best practices
- Lead system upgrades and interface testing for new healthcare IT initiatives
- Generate reports on health information metrics for leadership decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or related field
- RHIA or RHIT credential required; CCS preferred
- Minimum 3 years' experience in acute care health information management
- Expertise in EHR systems (VistA/CPRS experience highly valued)
- Deep knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS regulations
- Proficiency in data analytics and quality improvement methodologies
- Federal background investigation clearance eligibility
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
