Responsibilities
- Oversee electronic health record (EHR) systems implementation and optimization for 50+ clinical departments
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and data security protocols across all veteran health information platforms
- Lead health information governance initiatives including coding accuracy and quality assurance programs
- Collaborate with clinical teams to design data-driven workflows that enhance care coordination
- Manage health information technology lifecycle planning and vendor relationships
- Develop and execute disaster recovery plans for critical health information systems
- Train staff on health information management best practices and regulatory updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (required)
- RHIA or RHIT credential from AHIMA (required)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in healthcare information systems implementation
- Expertise in HIPAA compliance and federal health information regulations
- Proficiency with Epic EHR systems or comparable platforms
- Experience leading cross-functional healthcare technology projects
- Knowledge of VA-specific health information management protocols
- Strong analytical skills with data interpretation experience
