Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems for veteran patients
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, VA policies, and federal health information standards
- Train staff on health information management protocols and system usage
- Conduct audits and implement data integrity controls for sensitive veteran health data
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize health information workflows
- Lead system upgrades and process improvements for health information systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience with EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA and federal health information regulations
- Proficiency in health data analytics and reporting tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
