Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance and data accuracy
- Analyze healthcare data to identify trends and support clinical decision-making
- Coordinate with medical teams to ensure timely documentation of veteran health information
- Implement and optimize health information management policies and procedures
- Conduct audits and quality reviews to maintain regulatory standards
- Train staff on health information systems and best practices
- Collaborate with IT departments to resolve system issues and enhance functionality
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare data management or EHR systems
- RHIA, RHIT, or CPHIMS certification preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, Cerner, or similar EHR platforms
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS regulations
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a secure federal environment with required background clearance
