Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with VA and HIPAA standards
- Implement data integrity protocols for veteran medical information
- Coordinate health information exchange between clinical departments
- Conduct regular audits of health data quality and accessibility
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Support transition to new VA health information technologies
- Ensure regulatory compliance for veteran health data privacy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years health information management experience
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Deep knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations
- Strong analytical skills for data quality assessment
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required
