Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate complex veterans' benefit claims with 99% accuracy
- Conduct thorough interviews to gather evidence for compensation and pension claims
- Provide expert guidance on VA benefits programs including healthcare, education, and housing
- Collaborate with medical professionals to develop comprehensive Compensation & Pension exams
- Maintain detailed case documentation in VA's electronic records system
- Represent the VA in appeals hearings and provide testimony at Board of Veterans' Appeals
- Train junior representatives on regulatory compliance and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in benefits administration or veteran services
- Proficiency with VA regulations (38 CFR) and claims processing systems
- Strong analytical skills for complex case evaluation
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Experience with case management software and MS Office Suite
