Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' disability compensation claims according to federal regulations
- Provide personalized guidance on VA healthcare, education, and vocational benefits
- Conduct interviews with veterans and family members to gather claim documentation
- Represent the VA at community outreach events to educate veterans on available services
- Maintain accurate case records using the Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS)
- Collaborate with medical professionals to develop disability ratings
- Ensure compliance with 38 CFR and VA policy guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in veteran services or federal claims processing
- Strong knowledge of VA benefits programs and federal regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and empathy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
