Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' benefit claims with 100% accuracy per federal regulations
- Conduct weekend shift interviews with veterans and family members regarding eligibility and benefits
- Maintain secure documentation in accordance with VA and HIPAA requirements
- Collaborate with medical teams to coordinate healthcare access for weekend emergency cases
- Provide real-time benefit status updates to veterans during weekend hours
- Conduct weekend outreach programs to underserved veteran communities
- Support weekend on-call rotation for urgent veteran assistance requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in veterans services or federal benefits administration
- Active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency with VA claims processing systems (VBMS, VBA) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated crisis management abilities
- Knowledge of federal veterans' benefits regulations (38 CFR)
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
