Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to ensure security and order
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to maintain safety protocols
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and behavioral issues with trained protocols
- Complete detailed incident reports and documentation with precision
- Screen visitors and packages according to established procedures
- Participate in training exercises to maintain operational readiness
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during joint operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and drug screening
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Physical fitness to handle emergency situations and long shifts
- Proficiency in basic computer systems and report writing
- Minimum 21 years of age and U.S. citizenship required
