Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to ensure safety and security
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance rounds using modern security systems
- Respond to incidents and emergencies following established protocols
- Document all observations and incidents in digital logs with precision
- Process visitors and incoming/outgoing materials according to departmental policies
- Participate in weekend shift rotations covering Saturday and Sunday
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy for digital reporting systems
- Physical stamina to stand/walk for extended periods and respond to emergencies
- Strong communication skills for conflict de-escalation
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
- Must be 21 years or older
