Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional policies during weekend shifts
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to maintain facility safety
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with appropriate de-escalation techniques
- Document daily logs, incident reports, and disciplinary actions accurately
- Screen visitors and incoming packages to prevent contraband introduction
- Assist in inmate rehabilitation programs during weekend operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon)
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
