Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules 24/7 during weekend shifts
- Conduct regular security inspections and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies using crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate daily activity reports
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and control panels
- Transport inmates between facilities as required
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid New York State driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and physical fitness assessment
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work rotating weekend schedules (Fri/Sat/Sun)
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
- US citizenship or permanent residency status
