Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to maintain order and security
- Conduct regular security patrols and inspections of housing units and common areas
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with professionalism
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Screen visitors and packages to ensure compliance with security protocols
- Participate in inmate rehabilitation programs and educational activities
- Collaborate with healthcare and mental health staff for inmate welfare
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- No felony convictions and ability to pass extensive background check
- Must be 21+ years old and physically fit for security duties
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed
- Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification preferred
