Responsibilities
- Weekend System Maintenance: Perform essential hardware and software maintenance, patch management, and system backups on Saturdays and Sundays to minimize downtime during business hours.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex IT issues reported by internal staff, including network connectivity problems, printer failures, and application errors.
- Help Desk Support: Provide remote and on-site technical support to CDOT employees, ensuring minimal disruption to agency operations.
- Security Compliance: Monitor security protocols and access logs to ensure data integrity and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Hardware Management: Manage inventory for weekend tech stations, including provisioning laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Incident Reporting: Document all incidents, resolutions, and maintenance activities in the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) accurately and timely.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or help desk operations.
- Availability: Must be available to work a full-time schedule that includes alternating weekends (Saturday/Sunday) and occasional holidays.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and troubleshooting network hardware.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification is a strong plus.
