Join the core infrastructure team of the Tennessee State Government as a Weekend IT Support Specialist. Responsibilities
- Provide tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for state employees.
- Perform routine maintenance, patch management, and security updates for servers and workstations during weekend shifts.
- Respond to emergency service tickets and on-call incidents to minimize downtime for critical government systems.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of new devices and peripherals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all support tickets, resolutions, and system changes.
- Collaborate with the central IT team to ensure alignment with state cybersecurity standards and compliance protocols.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional IT support or helpdesk experience.
- CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification preferred.
- Must be available to work a consistent weekend schedule (e.g., Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
