Responsibilities
- Manage weekend circulation desk operations including check-ins/check-outs and account management
- Provide exceptional reference assistance to patrons using library resources and digital tools
- Assist with technology support including computer access, printing, and basic troubleshooting
- Coordinate weekend programming for children, teens, and adults
- Process interlibrary loan requests and manage physical/digital collections
- Enforce library policies and safety protocols during weekend hours
- Collaborate with weekday staff to ensure seamless service continuity
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in Library Science preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience in public-facing role
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (e.g., Sierra, Koha)
- Basic technical troubleshooting skills for public computers/equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on weekends
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency highly desirable
- Pass background check and fingerprint clearance
