Responsibilities
- Supervise Weekend Workforce: Lead, train, and mentor a team of field technicians and contractors during weekend shifts to ensure optimal productivity and safety.
- Operational Oversight: Monitor daily field operations including street sweeping, pothole repair, graffiti removal, and storm drain maintenance.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations, SFDPW safety policies, and traffic control procedures on all job sites.
- Project Management: Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to manage weekend project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality meets city standards and performs routine performance audits.
- Communication: Serve as the liaison for weekend operations, providing clear briefings to staff and reporting status updates to management.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in public works, municipal operations, or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Licensure: Valid California Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Availability: Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as required by city operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use handheld devices for data collection.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; ability to work in various weather conditions.
