Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors, answering inquiries and ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience
- Conduct routine park maintenance including trail inspections, restroom cleaning, and facility upkeep
- Lead interpretive programs and guided nature walks focused on local ecology and conservation
- Monitor park usage, enforce regulations, and report safety concerns or maintenance issues
- Collaborate with full-time staff on weekend events, including festivals and educational workshops
- Maintain accurate records of visitor counts, incidents, and facility conditions
- Support habitat restoration projects and wildlife monitoring initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in environmental science, recreation management, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer service, hospitality, or outdoor recreation
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (will be provided if not held)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk on uneven terrain
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage diverse audiences
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and perform physical tasks like bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
- Pass background check and fingerprint clearance for state employment
