Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to ensure safety and security
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance of assigned areas
- Process inmate admissions, releases, and transfers following established protocols
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with calm, decisive action
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to address inmate medical needs
- Participate in continuous training programs to maintain certification standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Ohio Peace Officer certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Physical fitness to meet job demands including standing for extended periods
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
