Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to ensure safety and security
- Conduct regular rounds and headcounts in accordance with department protocols
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with appropriate interventions
- Document all observations and incidents accurately in electronic systems
- Facilitate inmate access to rehabilitation programs, legal resources, and medical care
- Collaborate with law enforcement and healthcare professionals during critical incidents
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum 21 years of age with US citizenship and valid driver's license
- Ability to pass rigorous background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Physical ability to complete defensive tactics training and facility patrols
- Experience in corrections, law enforcement, or security (highly desirable)
