Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate population to ensure facility security and compliance with regulations
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and security inspections to prevent contraband
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques and protocol
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation for administrative review
- Coordinate with healthcare staff for inmate medical needs during weekend coverage
- Facilitate inmate movement and visitation procedures according to policy
- Participate in mandatory training programs to maintain certification standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year security or corrections experience preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Physical stamina to stand/walk for extended periods and respond to emergencies
