Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned city areas during weekend shifts to deter crime and ensure public safety
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents requiring law enforcement intervention
- Conduct thorough investigations, document incidents, and prepare detailed reports
- Collaborate with weekend emergency services (fire, EMS) for coordinated response
- Enforce municipal ordinances and state laws with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Maintain accurate logs and digital records of weekend activities and incidents
- Participate in ongoing weekend-specific training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in criminal justice preferred
- Valid Massachusetts Class A Driver's License
- Mandatory completion of Boston Police Academy training program
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Fri-Sun, 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm)
- Physical fitness certification and ability to pass annual fitness assessments
- Experience with de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background investigation
