Responsibilities
- Manage departmental calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating logistics for city operations
- Prepare and maintain confidential records, reports, and documentation in compliance with municipal regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service to citizens, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Process financial transactions, purchase orders, and expense reimbursements using city systems
- Coordinate cross-departmental projects and initiatives as assigned by management
- Assist in developing departmental policies and procedural improvements
- Train new staff on administrative systems and city protocols
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of administrative experience in government or public sector
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of municipal regulations and procurement processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a City of San Diego security clearance
- Experience with record management systems and document retention policies
