Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to department staff, including scheduling, correspondence, and record keeping.
- Manage office operations, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with state policies.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other documents for internal and external use.
- Handle inquiries from the public, other agencies, and department staff with professionalism and courtesy.
- Maintain confidential files and sensitive information in accordance with state regulations.
- Coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements for department staff.
- Perform data entry and maintain databases to ensure accurate record keeping.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in public administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a government or public sector environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Valid Michigan driver's license and willingness to travel as needed (if applicable).
