Responsibilities
- Manage financial records and documentation in accordance with city policies and state regulations
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reimbursements with 99% accuracy
- Coordinate with department heads to prepare quarterly budget reports
- Respond to public inquiries regarding financial processes and procedures
- Implement new accounting software updates and training initiatives
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with governmental standards
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual financial reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of government or municipal finance experience
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of Kansas governmental accounting standards (GASB)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
