Responsibilities
- Conduct lawful inspections of travelers, vehicles, and cargo at ports of entry
- Enforce U.S. immigration and customs laws with precision and authority
- Operate advanced detection equipment and security systems
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate case documentation
- Respond to emergency situations and security threats with decisive action
- Collaborate with federal partners including ICE, FBI, and DEA
- Provide exceptional customer service to international travelers
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass rigorous background investigation and polygraph examination
- Successful completion of CBP Academy training program
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
- Fluency in English (Spanish proficiency highly desirable)
- Physical fitness to meet CBP's medical standards
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
