As a City Carrier, you will be the face of the USPS, ensuring that mail and packages are delivered safely and efficiently to every doorstep in your assigned route.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail: Sort and deliver mail to residential and business customers along an assigned route on time.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate a Parcel Post Truck or van to transport mail and packages to and from the Post Office.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, answer questions, and handle mail with care.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing proper uniform and PPE while operating vehicles or walking routes.
- Package Handling: Handle packages, certified mail, and special services with the highest level of accuracy.
- Route Management: Maintain the accuracy of the delivery sequence and address files.
- Weather Endurance: Work in all weather conditions, including snow and rain, to ensure delivery is never missed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- License: A valid state driver's license is required.
- Age: At least 18 years of age.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and walk/drive for extended periods.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Skills: Good manual dexterity, color vision, and the ability to read maps and street directories.
- Attitude: A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.
