Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to customers along an assigned route in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring every piece of mail is delivered correctly.
- Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail and packages before and after delivery to maintain route efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service by handling mail with care, greeting customers, and resolving inquiries professionally.
- Collect and process accountable mail, such as Certified and Registered letters, ensuring proper documentation.
- Operate a motor vehicle safely along the designated route, adhering to all traffic laws and USPS safety protocols.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting packages up to 70 lbs, walking up to 10 miles per day, and standing for extended periods.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while representing the United States Postal Service.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold a valid Permanent Resident Card (Green Card).
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check, including a criminal history review, and a pre-employment drug screening.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages of varying weights, often requiring sustained walking and standing.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor for interacting with the public.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions and flexible to work overtime as needed.
