Responsibilities
- Record and maintain official city council minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and legislative actions
- Administer public records requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot certification processes
- Manage city document archives and digital record-keeping systems
- Coordinate public hearings, agendas, and legislative tracking
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and official documents
- Advise elected officials on parliamentary procedure and legislative compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Deep knowledge of Texas Election Code and open records statutes
- Exceptional written communication and document drafting skills
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
