As the City Clerk, you will serve as the chief administrative officer for the City Council, managing official records, elections, and legislative proceedings. This is a vital role ensuring transparency and continuity within our local governance structure.

Responsibilities
- Manage Official Records: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and archiving of all official city documents, resolutions, and ordinances to ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Legislative Support: Coordinate and prepare agendas, minutes, and reports for City Council and Board meetings, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
- Public Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for the public, providing information regarding city services, voting procedures, and meeting schedules.
- Elections Administration: Oversee local election processes, including voter registration, ballot printing, and polling place management.
- Correspondence: Draft and respond to complex correspondence, FOIA requests, and inter-departmental communications with professionalism and efficiency.
- Training & Development: Assist in training new clerical staff and implementing updated municipal protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in municipal clerical work, office administration, or a related government role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with Records Management Systems (RMS) or GIS software is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, professional documents.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain absolute accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Integrity: Demonstrated ethical judgment and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
