Responsibilities
- Oversee the management, preservation, and indexing of all city records and official documents.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and official correspondence for the City Council and Boards.
- Administer and coordinate local, state, and federal elections, including voter registration and polling place management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the public regarding city policies, ordinances, and procedural inquiries.
- Maintain the Municipal Code and ensure strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act and Open Records Act.
- Process official resolutions, proclamations, and contracts with precision and attention to detail.
- Manage the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests in a timely and transparent manner.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or certification in Public Administration is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clerical, administrative, or government setting.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse community members.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive records.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by election cycles and council meetings.
