Responsibilities
- Maintain official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes with absolute accuracy
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with Arizona open records laws
- Oversee municipal elections including ballot preparation, polling place coordination, and results certification
- Administer oaths of office, public notices, and official document authentication
- Lead digital records modernization initiatives while preserving historical archives
- Advise city council on procedural matters and legislative compliance
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure consistent record-keeping standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in municipal records management or public administration
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation or willingness to obtain within 12 months
- Expertise in Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) Title 9 and election procedures
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and digital archiving tools
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance for official documents
