Responsibilities
- Manage, preserve, and digitize official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Coordinate and document proceedings of the City-County Council and public hearings
- Administer oaths, issue public notices, and maintain voter registration records
- Oversee record retention policies and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Process public record requests and maintain transparent document accessibility
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and legislative departments on procedural compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of records management or municipal governance experience
- Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Indiana Notary Public certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of Indiana open records laws (IC 5-14-3)
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written communication and public interaction abilities
