Responsibilities
- Manage all city elections, including voter registration, ballot preparation, and polling place coordination
- Preserve and maintain official municipal records, documents, and archives with meticulous attention to detail
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with Massachusetts public records law
- Administer oaths of office and ceremonial functions for municipal officials
- Manage City Council documentation, including meeting minutes, ordinances, and legislative tracking
- Develop and implement digital record management systems for enhanced accessibility
- Lead community outreach initiatives to promote voter education and civic participation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in municipal government or election administration
- Expert knowledge of Massachusetts election laws and public records regulations
- Advanced proficiency in record management systems (e.g., Documentum, Laserfiche)
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage complex projects simultaneously
- Strong public speaking and community engagement abilities
- Professional certification in Municipal Clerkship (MMC) or equivalent preferred
