Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and certification of official municipal records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with FOIL regulations
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and official documentation for City Council meetings
- Administer oaths of office and notarize official documents
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure record-keeping consistency
- Manage voter registration records and election documentation
- Lead public outreach initiatives regarding municipal records and services
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal government records management
- Expert knowledge of New York State Public Officers Law and NYC Charter
- Proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, FileNet)
- Valid New York State Notary Public commission
- Exceptional written communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
