Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal records management, including ordinances, resolutions, and archived documents
- Prepare and distribute official meeting agendas, minutes, and public notices
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official city seals and certifications
- Coordinate municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Serve as custodian of public records and respond to public record requests
- Manage city council meeting logistics and documentation
- Ensure compliance with North Carolina General Statutes and city charters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or records management
- Proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Knowledge of North Carolina election laws and open records statutes
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting official documents
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
