Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance of official city records, ordinances, and minutes with meticulous attention to detail
- Coordinate public records requests in compliance with Tennessee Open Records Act
- Manage city council agendas, public hearings, and legislative documentation
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services for municipal transactions
- Serve as primary liaison between city departments and elected officials
- Develop and implement record retention policies aligned with state regulations
- Facilitate public access to municipal information through digital and physical systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Expertise in Tennessee open records laws and municipal procedures
- Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage complex workflows
- Strong written communication skills for drafting official documents
- Valid Tennessee Notary Public commission or ability to obtain within 90 days
