Responsibilities
- Manage and safeguard all city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes in compliance with state statutes
- Administer municipal elections including voter registration, ballot preparation, and polling place coordination
- Oversee public records requests and ensure timely, accurate document disclosures
- Prepare official city documents including contracts, resolutions, and proclamations
- Manage the city's legislative tracking system and maintain official council records
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure consistent record-keeping protocols
- Serve as the official custodian of the city seal and authenticate documents
- Lead records retention and archival programs for historical preservation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal records management or government experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of Minnesota's open records laws (Minn. Stat. Ch. 13)
- Proficiency in records management systems and document imaging software
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines
