The City of Long Beach is seeking an experienced City Clerk to join our dynamic municipal team. Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and council meeting documentation
- Administer public records requests and ensure compliance with California Public Records Act
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Prepare and certify official city documents including resolutions and proclamations
- Manage the city's legislative tracking and indexing systems
- Provide administrative support to the City Council and public commissions
- Develop public outreach programs for civic engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification or equivalent credentials
- Expertise in records management and digital archiving systems
- Strong knowledge of California election laws and procedures
- Exceptional communication and public speaking abilities
- Proficiency with municipal software (e.g., Legistar, Tyler Technologies)
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
